His listing is for a vintage Selmer (Paris) "Soloist" mouthpiece for alto saxophone. This is not the current re-make, but rather a true vintage 1950's era short scroll shank mouthpiece.

The short shank was the first iteration of the Soloist line, which were included with the early'5 digit' Mark VI horns. This is the most desirable of the scroll shank variations.

I can say from experience that they consistently outplay the later versions. This one is actually an early version of the short shank variety. To be honest, I didn't know this until recently, but the earliest short shank mouthpieces have a slightly different scroll design on the shank... If you look closely you will see it is more of an "S" pattern, as opposed to the consecutive ovals seen on the later version of the short shank, and all long shank types. Apparently these early ones had more hand work done on the chamber.

This one comes in the. C facing, in original condition, and measuring spot on spec at. This mouthpiece is in excellent condition.

The tip, table, and rails are perfectly smooth, and original. There is no tooth wear on the beak. There are no cracks, chips, or other damage. It is still black and shiny, with a clear logo, and minimal scratching on the exterior. I t has been cleaned/sanitized, so it is ready to use.

Also included are the original Selmer 2 screw ligature, and mouthpiece cap. The ligature is in excellent condition. It has not been bent out of shape, and the screws work properly.

The cap is a bit bent up, and it is missing the piece that covers the opening at the top, but it is still useable. Both pieces have worn lacquer and scratching. This is due to lack of available transportation ie. If this potential wait presents a problem for you, please refrain from purchasing at this time. I sincerely apologize for this, unfortunately unavoidable, inconvenience.
