1950's era slant signature Link, not the current reproduction. It is a 1st generation'slant sig', made in New York. There is no "USA" on the shank. The facing number 3 is stamped on the table.
It is all original, never refaced or otherwise altered. This piece is in excellent condition. The tip, table, and rails are nice and smooth. There are no tooth indentations on the beak. There is some scratching/scuffing on the exterior on one side not sure what it is from, but it is in a small concentrated area... Could probably be buffed smooth if it bothered you, but that is about it. This is a great mouthpiece for the serious jazz alto saxophonist!
It speaks easily and has a tone that is on the dark side of the spectrum, but very rich harmonically. There is a bunch of doodling on the side and bottom of the box, so it isn't perfect by any means. The ligature shown is also included. I'm not sure if it is original or not.
It looks similar to other what I've seen identified as Otto Link ligatures, but it doesn't have an "A" stamp. It fits well though and it came with the mouthpiece, so I will pass it along that way.
