These have the same scooped inner side walls as the'Meyer Bros. Era pieces, but with a thinner body which makes them a bit brighter.
This is the quintessential bebop mouthpiece for alto saxophonists, as played by Phil Woods and countless others. It is in very good, and original condition. This one is a 5M with a medium chamber. It is in very good condition. There are a couple of scuffs along the edge of the table, but the tip and side rails are perfectly smooth and all original.T here are no bite marks on the beak. The shank ring was added as a preventative measure. Please be advised that it does cover up the New York stamp, but anyone who knows these pieces will recognize it as a NY era piece based on the interior side walls. This is a great piece for the serious jazz alto player. Vintage Meyer alto mouthpieces are very prized for the excellent quality of their hard rubber compound, but they are getting more and more difficult to come by.
