For the vintage large chamber metal mpcs: LINK, SELMER, LELANDAIS/CHEDEVILLE - the early True Flex metal one play the absolute best from my experience. The sound is full rich and with a certain edge actually, not as dark as Links and Chedevilles, more versatile for all styles I found. Despite its smaller tip opening it can really open up and has a strong "presence" like the vintage LINK mouthpieces. After experimenting with different ligatures Silverstein, BG DUO etc. I had the mpc completely cleaned up and polished - and the original ligature is simply the best! It sits tight but can be loosened up and by changing the position produces a marvelous range of colors. The mouthpiece seals effortlessly very well also after hours of playing and reeds don´t get bent by that table incision. This one has never been altered, it has the original "3" tip opening matching Ralph Morgan´s 1930s Meyer tip opening of. 060 and I played it with Vandoren V21 3,5 reeds. The plating has worn off (it looks like there was some at some point) and it is basically bare brass and needs to be polished with a silver cloth regularly (I washed it then simply off with water). Or - you get it opened up and re-plated! Good Luck and thanks for your interest! TRU-FLEX METAL Alto Saxophone mouthpiece" is in sale since Monday, January 27, 2020.
