Here is one of those special horns you rarely see and even more rare-get to play. This is a late'Chu' -not a transitional, Artist Special. The entire horn is gold plated, and it has the extensive engraving. The bell has a flapper head inside an ornate cameo like ring. The bell is engraved extensively but there is no other engraving-not on the body or keys.

No signs of repair and no plating wear though -virtually 100%! Comes with a Rene Dumont mouthpiece and a G Valette mouthpiece-both in fine condition. Has two reeds and a leather neck strap.

Took this to Steve Deutsch, who owns a shop in Berkeley. Pads are Conn Resonators - not new. He said it does not play- 9 pads need to be replaced. Although for that much you would probably want a complete rebuild. The cost for me to have this rebuilt is prohibitive here in the Bay Area of California.

The Rene Dumont was stuck on the neck, a different repair tech got it off and damaged the cork. The horn itself is like a closet queen. Steve took numerous photos for his own collection.

He wanted to make an offer but is not deep with cash. There is no evidence of any repair and the engraving is so sharp you can trip over it. Original case is in very nice shape and seems to be padded thicker than other alto cases I have seen.

Actually mailing and I will NOT understate price. Please check for international mailing costs first. Feel free to make A REASONABLE OFFER. Do not waste our time with a ridiculous offer.
